ABSTRACT

Science education is a very important science to learn and discuss because it is tightly related to everyday life. The phenomena that exist in the environment are related to science, so science education is important to learn. In addition, research on science education is important. This research aimed at the analysis of bibliometric data in the field of science education by using the mapping analysis software VOSviewer. Research data is also obtained through the reference manager application. The search results from the keyword "Science education" are used as data in this research. From the search results in the 2017-2021 range, we obtained data from as many as 991 relevant published articles. The results showed that from 2017 to 2021 the number of research on science education continued to decline. A significant decrease occurred in 2019. Until now, the exact causative factor has not been found, but one of the suspected factors is the result of the deployment of Covid-19. The conditions and situations of the pandemic have resulted in researchers experiencing a decrease in the productivity of their research activities. The results of this study show how important it is to use bibliometric analysis data. This research demonstrates the score of the analysis bibliometric about providing information on how the phenomena occur. This research was meant the assist and serve as to reference for researchers undertaking as well as deciding on research topics, especially about science education. © School of Engineering, Taylor's University.

ABSTRACT

The requirement for English proficiency in tertiary education positions EAP in an advantageous position in language teaching and research. EAP's strengths stem from broad theoretical foundations and a commitment to research-based language education. As a result, the course has begun to reveal some of the constraints that participants must overcome. As part of the EAP course, EAP Teachers face obstacles and challenges throughout the teaching-learning process, particularly during the pandemic, when teaching and learning must take place entirely online. The purpose of this study was to determine the constraints faced by teachers when teaching EAP online to non-English language students. The research was conducted through a qualitative case study involving 15 UNS Language Center EAP teachers. Semi-structured and open-ended interviews were used to collect data. This study discovered that there are some applications used by the teachers to conduct online learning such as Telegram, WhatsApp, Zoom Meeting, Google Meet, Google Classroom, and Quizziz. Teachers faced numerous constraints when teaching EAP, including the heterogeneity of students' English skills within a class, teachers' inexperience with online teaching media, communication gaps, time management, students' motivation, anxiety caused by a new system, and limited internet access. This study concludes that online learning presents difficulties for both teachers and students when it comes to learning EAP. The findings of this study are expected to provide an overview of online EAP learning, allowing for the identification of solutions to these difficulties and the future improvement of online EAP learning. © 2021 ACM.

ABSTRACT

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of parents in assisting and educating children with autism is limited to their ability and knowledge of how to educate children with autism, parents with low parenting self-efficacy should work hard to meet the demands of the family, putting them at risk of stress and depression. This study aims to determine the need for a "smart parenting"module to increase parenting self-efficacy for mothers of autistic children at SLB Negeri Surakarta during the COVID-19 pandemic. The needs analysis of this module uses qualitative research with descriptive data analysis techniques and data collection through interviews. According to the findings of this study, mothers of children with autism in SLB Surakarta have low parenting self-efficacy, indicating that parents of autism children require a smart parenting module to improve parenting self-efficacy. It can be concluded that parenting self-efficacy is an important aspect that every parent, particularly mothers with autism children who face many challenges in the process of parenting autism children during the covid-19 pandemic must possess. © 2021 ACM.
